UNEP-WCMC strives to enhance awareness of the importance of biodiversity and ecosystem services to companies operations. Our main focus is to develop guidance and analysis to demystify biodiversity and ecosystem services. This allows it to be integrated as part of normal business practices by streamlining biodiversity information, making it more accessible and relevant to the business community. In addition to this work, UNEP-WCMC also engages directly with businesses through two key chanels.
UNEP-WCMC plays a key role in the Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool (IBAT). The tool is the result of a ground-breaking conservation partnership among BirdLife International, Conservation International, IUCN and UNEP-WCMC. IBAT for Business, a subscription based service was launched in 2010, it facilitates access to information about high priority sites for conservation - namely protected areas and key biodiversity areas - to inform the implementation of corporate biodiversity policies and enhance environmental management systems. Visit www.ibatforbusiness.org or contact firstname.lastname@example.org
We provide direct support to businesses for specific operations or projects, through a variety of mechanisms, such as: spatial risk assessments, horizon scanning and policy review, development of guidance on good practice and development of customised decision support tools and analysis. Through our Business, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services programme we are able to provide access to our own scientific staff, and a wider community of conservation specialists. The objectives and nature of this work is unique in each case, contact us for further information on email@example.com.
