Cristina’s main interest lies in the field of international biodiversity governance and the science-policy interface, and in how policy-making processes can translate scientific results into action. Her work at UNEP-WCMC focuses particularly on the development and use of biodiversity indicators in support of the Convention of Biological Diversity (CBD) and other Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs), and she is and she is the Communications Manager for the Biodiversity Indicator Partnership (BIP). She obtained a BSc in Biology after studying in Spain and Finland, and holds a MSc in Conservation Science from Imperial College. Previous to join WCMC in 2012, Cristina worked for the Convention on Migratory Species Secretariat (CMS) on information and capacity building issues, and for the European Commission on international biodiversity policy. In her spare time she enjoys cycling, swimming, and getting lost in all corners of the world.
