Damon leads on the development and communication of indicators within the Ecosystem Assessment Programme; and also has an interest in polar issues. In his role coordinating the Biodiversity Indicators Partnership, Damon's work includes engaging with UN conventions, International data gathering organisations, scientific institutions; together with supporting National and Regional capacity strengthening initiatives. Having previously worked in biodiversity research and marine monitoring, variously in the Antarctic, Arctic, East Africa, SE Asia and throughout the UK, Damon brings a broad perspective to the analysis and interpretation of real-world data. Damon has a degree in Marine biology and a PhD in Antarctic marine ecology. Away from WCMC, he keeps his two children entertained and sails the Blackwater Estuary, preferably at the same time.
