Satu implements projects relating to international, species-related conventions and agreements, such as CITES, CMS and EU Wildlife Trade Regulations, and has a strong interest in issues relating to wildlife trade, international cooperation and sustainable development. Satu has a BSc in Biology and a MSc in Zoology and did her research on meerkats in the Kalahari. She spent a year working as a wildlife scientist in Guyana and worked for the UK CITES Scientific Authority (Fauna) advising UK Government on scientific aspects of CITES implementation. When not at work she enjoys crafting and restoring old furniture, if not getting up very early to ring birds.
