Sharon is responsible for developing and implementing projects that support improved biodiversity management by companies. Recently these have included projects to strengthen the biodiversity and ecosystem services provisions of voluntary standards for the private sector, the A-Z of areas of biodiversity importance website – www.biodiversitya-z.org, and developing an approach for reporting on ecosystem services. Sharon holds an MSc in Applied Ecology and Conservation and a PhD in the field of conservation and rural development, and prior to joining the centre in 2009 was involved in field based conservation projects in Asia and academic research at the University of Cambridge. In her spare time, Sharon likes playing squash and capoeira, but is generally running around after her son.
